The recent death of my grandmother, Maria Meissner nee Wasensteiner, on July 16, 2008 led to the creation of this blog. After her death, I inherited her papers. Almost all of them are written in German and require translation. Because her children and grandchildren are separated by many miles, we decided the best way to share the contents of these letters with each other was through the Internet.
It is my deepest hope that through this project we can find new connections with each other and create new ways to communicate as we learn about our collective history. Posts may be moderated for content, and access may be restricted to family members only, as needed.
